The Top 6 finalists, Apeksha Porwal, Shannon Gonsalves, Peden Ongmu Namgyal, Tejaswini Manogna, Vijaya Sharma and Shraddha Shashidhar were asked a common question- “Has the internet contributed positively or negatively to society and what is your opinion?” Let’s see what the ladies had to answer to this question!

Apeksha Porwal- “I think the internet in its entirety has contributed positively to our generation. It has brought people closer together from all over the world. It has made boundaries seamless and it has given us access to a lot of knowledge and resources. I only hope though that it is man who continues to control the internet and not the other way around or else the boon will become the bane.”

Peden Ongmu Namgyal- Just like every other technology internet does have its downfall but it has also helped us in many ways like if you want to know about the news you can just go and google. If you want to know how too cook just go on youtube, so that way internet has helped us a lot.”

Shannon Gonsalves- “Well I believe that internet is a boon to mankind. Because of internet today we are connected to the whole world. We can meet new people in the internet. People find their relationships on internet. In fact biggest example I can give is the recent Chennai flood where people used used hashtags to provide assitance to the people who are in distress, so I believe that the internet is the boon to mankind.”

Shraddha Shashidhar– “Well in my opinion the internet has definitely contributed to the sciety. The world now is a global village that we are living in. We may be thousand miles apart but we are just one message away. There’s innumerable knowledge out there and we are just one click away. There is a saying called “Vasudev Kutunbkam”, one home, one family. The internet has become a boon to society.”

Tejaswini Manogna– “Internet has really helped a lot. Because it is the only source of knowledge which does not look for any economic background be it rich or poor. Anybody can source this kind of knowledge from you know having their cell phones if the cell phone is enough. So we just have to know how to utilize it properly. And I think our world will be somewhere else if you properly utilize the internet.”

Vijaya Sharma– “I think internet provides some positive things because it provides not only comunication and information it also provides a vital information about health, education and jobs. And the people who are using internetand who can access to….and I think its positive to me.”
