Abby Sturgin was crowned Miss Earth New Zealand 2017 during the finals held May 27 at the Waipuna Hotel Conference Centre.
The 19-year-old student from West Auckland will now represent her country at the 2017 Miss Earth finals to be held later this year.
Her elemental court included Zoom Fitton (Miss Air), Nicole Gomes (Miss Water) and Ayu Candradewi (Miss Fire).

Sturgin is taking up Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and Management at AUT. She enjoys playing sport or exercising, and performing.
