A first-time pageant contestant won the Miss World Guyana 2017 title.
Vena Mookram, 18, has earned the right to represent Guyana at the 2017 Miss World finals to be held in December in China.

Mookram’s Beauty With A Purpose program focuses on on physical fitness and nutrition. She has collaborated with Guyana’s Ministry of Public Health to promote healthy living and disease prevention.
Manisha Wong and Ariell Ghanie placed first and second princesses, respectively.

Guyana has seen success at the Miss World pageant in recent years. In 2014, Rafieya Husain became the first Guyanese in over four decades to make the Miss World Top 10. The following year, Lisa Punch also placed in the Top 10 and also won the Talent fast track. Missosology.Org
