Nanise Rainima was crowned Miss World Fiji 2017 at the conclusion of the pageant held on Saturday, June 10 at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.
The 25-year-old native of Namuka Village in Nakelo, Tailevu will represent the nation at the 2017 Miss World finals in December in Sanya, China. She also bagged the Miss Photogenic special award.
“I am aware of the challenges that lie ahead of me but I believe if I do things to the best of my ability then I can surely rise above those challenges and make a difference. Representing my country will be a huge honour for me and I will give my utmost in the preparations so I can go to the finals well prepared and represent my country to the best of my ability,” she said after winning the title.
Rainima is a full-time missionary and graduated with a science degree from the University of the South Pacific. She was Miss Hibiscus 2014 and went to represent the country to the Miss Pacific Islands pageant before the Miss Fiji Pageant in 2015.
Adi Naomi Vuibau finished first runner-up and won Top Model award, while Jane Prasad was second runner-up and Best in Evening Gown. Ashwinta Reddy and Christine Mariam completed the top five.
Akanisi Nawa was Best in Talent while Sheenal Swastika bagged the Multimedia award. Missosology.Org
