A former Miss Earth candidate was crowned Miss Universe Singapore on Wednesday, October 11, at the Resorts World Sentosa Convention Centre.
Manuela Bruntraeger, 24, bested 19 other finalists for the right to represent Singapore at the 2017 Miss Universe pageant to be held next month in Las Vegas, Nevada in the USA.
“I am in so much shock. I worked really hard for this, and it is something that I dreamt of, so I am very happy to be standing here with this crown on my head. I hope it is because the judges saw my hard work and determination,” said Bruntraeger, who won Miss Earth Singapore 2016 and competed at the 2016 Miss Earth finals in Manila.
Bruntraeger, whose father is German and mother a Singaporean of Portuguese descent, is a Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate from Lasalle College of the Arts.
