Anna Henry was crowned Miss Northern Ireland 2017 on Monday night, May 15 at the Europa Hotel in Belfast.
The 22-year-old Renewable Energy engineering student from Portglenone impressed the panel of judges on the night with her beauty, charm and personality. She will now compete in the Miss World finals to be held in December in Sanya, China.
“Taking part in the contest has been such an immense experience and I never thought I would come this far,” Henry was quoted by BelfastLive after her win. “I’ve always looked up to previous Miss Northern Ireland winners, so I hope to follow in their footsteps and become a positive role model for other local girls.”
Twenty-three other candidates took part in the competition. Rachel Jones and Fionnula Mooney placed first and second runners-up, respectively.
Henry now faces the challenge of bringing home Northern Ireland’s first Miss World crown. Missosology.Org
