Andreia Gibau, who was representing the state of Massachusetts at Miss Earth United States 2017, was crowned as Miss Earth United States on August 5, 2017 during the finals held in Washington, DC. She succeeds Corrin Stellakis as the new Miss Earth United States and will be representing the country at Miss Earth finals to be held in the Philippines in November later this year.

22 years old, Andreia is a Brockton native and is of Cape Verdean descent. She recently graduated with a degree in public relations at St John’s University and has also been a Miss Teen United States titleholder erstwhile. Andreia works full time in entertainment and fashion industry. Along with that she also teaches self-development to children. The newly crowned beauty queen is fond of reading and has herself published a book lately. Andreia Gibau is well versed in four different languages.

During the coronation gala of Miss Earth United States 2017, Ashley Wade from District of Columbia was titled as Miss Air, Iman Brown from Northwest was adjudged as Miss Water and Sydney Wharton from Texas was announced as Miss Fire.

The event was graced by the reigning Miss Earth, Katherine Espin along with Miss Earth Air 2016, Michelle Gomez.

The grand finale of Miss Earth United States was judged by Katherine Espin (Miss Earth 2016), Andrea Neu (Miss Earth Air 2014), Amanda Pennekamp Bluestein (Miss Earth United States 2006), Lisa Forbes (Miss Earth United States 2007), Corrin Stellakis (Miss Earth Fire 2016), Ayesha Gilani Taylor (Miss Earth Pakistan 2009), Luissa Burton (Miss Earth England 2016), Bayartsetseg “Bela” Altangerel (Miss Earth Mongolia 2015), Amanda Sowards (Director of World Missions Outreach), CJ Comu (CEO Founder Chairman of EarthWater) Keeley Goldberg (Junior Miss Earth United States 2016), Dr. Mireya Mayor (Scientist and TV Presenter), Derek Tokarzewski (Owner of World Class Beauty Queens Magazine), Kim Elleen Atkins (C-SPAN host) and Stephen P. Smith (Founder CEO of Planet Beach HOTWORX).
