Denmark’s representative to the next Miss World edition has been crowned.
Amanda Petri, 20, from Gentofte won the coveted Miss Danmark 2017 crown on Saturday during the finals held at Azuray in Skovlunde. She bested 29 other ladies for the chance to compete at the 2017 Miss World finals to be held in China in November.
“I will do my absolute best to represent Denmark in the best possible way for Miss World 2017 in China. I’m excited, nervous, happy and most of all grateful,” she wrote on her Instagram post.
Shania Iversen placed first runner-up, while Simone Gadegaard Andersen was second runner-up. Mille Malihini Jul and Sabrina Jovanovic were third and fourth runners-up, respectively.
Denmark has yet to win the Miss World crown despite its numerous runners-up finished during the 1950s to early 60s. The last time it made the Top 10 was in 1992. Missosology.Org
